Silicone for Industrial Applications

Silicone Antifoam Emulsions for Industrial Applications

C-201030 D, C-2005 D, C-2010 D, C-2020 D, C-2030 D

This series of industrial-grade antifoams are water-based, silicone emulsions (as polydimethylsiloxane) designed to control foam in a variety of aqueous industrial applications. The functional properties developed especially for the C-2000 series of antifoams to eliminate and prevent excessive foam include: quick dispersibility, slight insolubility, relative stability, and a high degree of spreadability in the foaming system. The primary active ingredient is polydimethylsiloxane, an inert silicone polymer. Our Industrial-grade  antifoam emulsions utilize only nonionic emulsifiers and do not contain reportable levels of any hazardous components. Therefore, when used properly, these antifoams are considered a relatively safe class of chemical additives.

C-2290 Specialty Silicone Antifoam

C-2290 is broad-spectrum antifoam demonstrating effectiveness in a variety of applications. It excels in evaporative wastewater treatment, and is a strong performer versus numerous types of detergent foam. It is particularly effective in the agriculture industry to control foam in herbicides and spray adjuvants. And it has also found utility in chemical manufacturing, water treatment, industrial process water, and some types of cleaning products and coating formulations. C-2290 antifoam is a water-based emulsion containing a complex mixture of silicones and non-silicone active ingredients. This combination provides rapid and aggressive foam destruction, and persistent foam suppression in many types of foaming media. C-2290 is readily dispersible in water with gentle mixing, and is generally more rinsable than a conventional silicone antifoam. C-2290 is suitable for the manufacture of paper and paperboard per 21 CFR 176.170, 176.180, and 176.210. C-2290 X is suitable for pre-harvest agricultural applications, and exempt from a tolerance per 40 CFR 180.920. Other clearances exist, so please contact us if you have a specific regulatory requirement.

C-5870, C-5910, C-2298

This series of water-based antifoams utilizes low levels of chemically modified silicones in conjunction with non-silicone defoaming polymers to deliver outstanding foam-combative performance. The functional properties developed especially for these products to eliminate and prevent excessive foam include very quick dispersibility and a high degree of spreadability in the foaming system. Designed for performance in difficult to defoam products and processes, these antifoams find utility in applications ranging from coatings to wastewater to chemical manufacturing. They also find utility directly in some cleaning products, as well as for controlling foam after rinsing out the tanks following production. They are suitable for use in pre-harvest agricultural applications for the purpose of defoaming herbicides and other adjuvants per 40 CFR 180.920, and can be used in the manufacture of paper and paperboard per 21 CFR 176.170, 176.180, and 176.210. And because these antifoams contain small levels of special silicones possessing enhanced rinseability and water dispersibility, they have the potential to be utilized in other applications traditionally sensitive to the presence of silicone.

C-5954

C-5954 is an industrial-grade antifoam emulsion containing approximately 65% active defoaming ingredients, of which most are silicones. In conjunction with the special, non-silicone defoaming agents present in the formulation, this high level of silicone was specifically designed to deliver outstanding foam-combative performance in difficult to defoam industrial products and processes, examples of which include certain types of coatings, wastewater applications, and chemical manufacturing. The functional properties developed especially for C-5954 to eliminate and prevent excessive foam include quick dispersibility and a high degree of spreadability in the foaming system. C-5954 also finds utility in destroying anionic foam associated with cleaning products and their manufacture, is highly rinseable, and is a suitable antifoam for the manufacture of food-grade paper and paperboard per 21 CFR 176.170, 176.180, and 176.210.
